As we continue our journey of growth and expansion to serve the new era of nuclear energy, Boccard, a leading specialist in engineering, manufacturing, construction, and maintenance in the nuclear energy industry, is looking for a Project Controls Engineer. The role involves working within the Project Control team to ensure our projects at the Nuclear New Build Project at Hinkley Point C are delivered successfully on time and within budget. The position will be based at Boccard’s Bristol city centre office.

Working across a portfolio of exciting projects, the role will support the Programme Manager with reporting, document management, and project planning.

Responsibilities

  • Support multiple projects to meet specified requirements and targets.
  • Contribute to the delivery programme baseline and manage project control processes including planning, cost, risk, trend analysis, and change control.
  • Manage project risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation measures as needed.
  • Maintain project documentation to required standards within the management system.
  • Assist in managing changes in estimation and planning for contract change submissions.
  • Support the Project Management Office in strategy delivery and capability development.
  • Provide project performance data such as critical path analysis, milestones, CPI, SPI, and EVA to the Project Control lead monthly.
  • Assist in preparing monthly client and supplier reports.
  • Support internal audits to ensure procedural compliance and implement corrective actions.

Experience and Qualifications

Degree in an Engineering discipline. Candidates should be detail-oriented, organized, with excellent planning and analytical skills, and proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Power Query, and Power BI. Curiosity and a willingness to learn are essential. Experience in an engineering or technical environment, preferably in the nuclear industry, is advantageous.
