Design Manager / Assistant Design Manager | Residential | Guildford / Basingstoke | Permanent

Join a nationally recognised Tier One contractor delivering major housing and regeneration schemes across the South East.

This is a well-funded, secure business with record turnover and long-term public sector partnerships.

Regionally, they are delivering significant housing schemes – including a £90m, 300-home partnershipin Guilford whilst having multiple projects to look forward to.

The Role

Work across traditional housing schemes (non-HRB) in Guildford and surrounding areas

  • Manage design from Stage 3/4 through delivery
  • Coordinate architects, structural engineers and M&E consultants
  • Review technical information for buildability and compliance
  • Drive pragmatic problem solving on live schemes
  • Lead design meetings, manage RFIs and protect programme

4 days site / head office, 1 day WFH – You must be able to comfortably reach both Guildford and Basingstoke.

What they’re looking for

Assistant Design Manager stepping up or established Design Manager

  • Technically strong – not overly process-driven
  • Housing or traditional construction background
  • Tier 2 backgrounds welcomed
  • Ambitious and keen to grow within a structured Tier One environment
  • Engineering background would be a real advantage but not essential

They are specifically looking for someone technically capable who can add depth – not just manage paperwork.
