We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Process Quality Engineer to play a key role in delivering high-quality, reliable Gas Control Valve (GCV) products in a regulated manufacturing environment. Job Description
Purpose of the Role
The Process Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring robust Quality Control within Gas Control Valve (GCV) production and providing first-line manufacturing engineering support to maintain high product standards and reliable production flow.
Essential Functions/Duties
1. Quality Control Support
- Deliver daily, hands-on Quality Control support for GCV production, monitoring RFT performance and resolving defects and line stoppages utilizing containment, temporary actions, and 8D methodology.
- Report daily on production cell quality performance, including line stop investigations and MRB decisions, and work with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to resolve issues and improve customer satisfaction.
- Investigate customer returns (RMA/SIs) and supplier defect root causes, conduct or request material and dimensional analyses, provide feedback on production, and support incoming/finished goods non‑conformance inspections.
- Collaborate with Operations to produce mandatory documentation (e.g., EoMR, Declarations of Conformity) in line with ISO 9001, PED, and ATEX.
- Participate in internal, supplier or customer audits.
2. Production Build and Test Procedures
- Develop, maintain, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Pre‑Delivery Inspection (PDI) processes for new and existing products.
- Train and support production staff on quality changes, new assembly and test procedures.
- Design, implement, and maintain production and test equipment such as jigs, fixtures, temperature tanks, and pressure testing systems.
3. Manufacturing Engineering Support
- Act as the first point of contact for equipment issues and provide or coordinate technical support.
- Support routine maintenance according to business priorities.
- Support QA with calibration of gauges and measuring tools.
- Collaborate with the technical team to contribute to or prepare DFMEA and PFMEA studies.
- In accordance with internal Engineering change procedures, approve and assist in executing Engineering Change Orders (ECN/ECO) in the ERP system.
- Develop and maintain product manuals and instructional documents covering procedures, maintenance requirements, operating limitations, and safety information.
4. General Responsibilities
- Comply with internal Quality procedures and standards.
- Maintain business and document management systems accurately.
- Follow all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain current knowledge of Company policies and procedures and ensure full compliance.
- Respond constructively to change and assist with new tasks or projects as needed.
Education & Experience
- Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical field.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant operation or engineering experience.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of Quality and Lean principles, including structured root cause analysis methods (8D, 3×5Y).
- Experience applying Lean assembly techniques in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and perform dimensional inspection using precision measurement tools.
- Solid knowledge of assembly and test processes for mechanical products.
- Understanding of drafting standards and engineering documentation requirements.
- Knowledge of US/EU product certification standards, including PED and ATEX compliance.
- Proficiency with 2D drafting and 3D modelling tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work effectively independently as well as within cross‑functional teams.
- Experience with electrical engineering, castings, hydraulics/pneumatics, PED compliance, ATEX/hazardous areas, CSA, CFD, and FEA.
Language, Mathematic & Reasoning
- Ability to interpret technical reports and communicate effectively in small groups.
- Ability to perform engineering calculations.
- Ability to define problems, analyze data, and draw valid conclusions.
