This is an exciting opportunity to join the Business Analyst team within Information Technology (IT) as a full-time member giving you the chance to work on a variety of projects and initiatives in support of NT’s Strategy.

Your contractual location will be our Head Office in Swindon. However, there is flexibility on where you are based. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview. There is an expectation that 2 days a week will be office based at Heelis. There may be a requirement for further days in the office depending on workload and events that may be upcoming.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be assigned to one or more projects where you are responsible for eliciting, analysing, validating and documenting business requirements, collaborating with teams at all levels to understand current challenges, uncover opportunities, and shape practical, value driven solutions. Working closely with both IT and business stakeholders, you’ll map processes, assess impacts, and provide evidence based recommendations that drive effective delivery.

We’re looking for someone who is analytical, organised, and naturally curious—a confident  communicator who uses a variety of techniques suitable for engaging with diverse stakeholders, makes sense of and translates complex information, championing improvements that deliver real business outcomes and drive meaningful improvements.

You’ll also be an active member of the Business Analyst Community of Practice where you will be assigned to process initiatives, facilitating project lessons learned workshops, sharing your experiences and knowledge, and helping improve Business Analyst techniques and ways of working.

  • Experience of Business Analysis practices, approaches and techniques
  • Experience of eliciting and documenting requirements
  • Experience of mapping and documenting processes
  • Outcome focused with the ability to visualise and articulate the wider impact of decisions made
  • Consultative approach, influencing, listening and stakeholder management skills, constructively challenging through informed and independent thinking
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpreting and assimilating information into the required Business Analyst project deliverables whilst being able to adjust your style appropriate to the audience
