Electrical Project Manager

Overview

Are you a Electrical Project Manager looking for a new role with a leading tier one M&E contractor? Do you want to work on projects up to £40 million M&E?

As the Mechanical Project Manager you will be exposed to leading the team on services for projects. On a day to day basis you will guide the project delivery team and participate in bid activity when required.

Typical developments consist of a mixture of commercial shell & core, commercial fit out and high end residential projects. This role will consist of managing from preconstruction of procurement, delivery, commission and handover for all M&E services.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full project lifecycle (design → procurement → installation → commissioning)
• Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
• Coordinate electrical engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Review and approve electrical designs, drawings, and technical specifications
• Ensure compliance with regulations (e.g., BS 7671 Wiring Regulations in the UK)
• Monitor project costs and manage financial performance
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Oversee site installation and testing/commissioning activities
• Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
• Prepare reports, progress updates, and documentation

Experience

• 5–10+ years in electrical engineering or project delivery
• Experience managing electrical installations or infrastructure projects
• Background in sectors such as construction, utilities, rail, or renewable energy

Key Skills

• Strong project management and leadership ability
• Technical knowledge of electrical systems (LV/HV distribution, control panels, protection systems)
• Budgeting and cost control
• Contract management (e.g., NEC, JCT contracts in the UK)
• Risk and health & safety management
• Communication and stakeholder engagement

Proficiency With Tools

• Microsoft Project
• AutoCAD Electrical
• Primavera P6
