Dear Applicant, for one of our client – a pioneer in bundling logistics infrastructure and leveraging edge intelligence through hive methodology – we are looking for an Engineering Manager (Research and Development) to lead client’s Analytics and Platform Development team. This role is pivotal in driving our next evolution, focusing on developing a robust, scalable analytics platform on major cloud services like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader, capable of managing a dynamic team, and fostering innovation in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of a cloud-based analytics platform tailored for the logistics industry.
- Manage a team of skilled professionals, including three core developers, with additional support from DevOps and device management teams.
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle from concept to deployment, ensuring adherence to timeline, budget, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align the platform development with overall business objectives and customer needs.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
- Regularly report on project progress, challenges, and strategies to senior management and stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in cloud computing, data analytics, and logistics technology
Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in leading engineering projects etc, preferably in cloud computing and/or data analytics.
- Strong technical expertise in cloud services (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a result-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and IoT device management is a plus.
- Proficiency in AI, machine learning, and edge computing.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and development.
- Knowledge of relevant programming languages and tech stacks.
- Strong leadership skills to manage and inspire R&D teams.
- Experience in project planning, budgeting, and timeline management.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
