Dear Applicant, for one of our client – a pioneer in bundling logistics infrastructure and leveraging edge intelligence through hive methodology – we are looking for an Engineering Manager (Research and Development) to lead client’s Analytics and Platform Development team. This role is pivotal in driving our next evolution, focusing on developing a robust, scalable analytics platform on major cloud services like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader, capable of managing a dynamic team, and fostering innovation in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of a cloud-based analytics platform tailored for the logistics industry.
  • Manage a team of skilled professionals, including three core developers, with additional support from DevOps and device management teams.
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle from concept to deployment, ensuring adherence to timeline, budget, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align the platform development with overall business objectives and customer needs.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Regularly report on project progress, challenges, and strategies to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in cloud computing, data analytics, and logistics technology

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in leading engineering projects etc, preferably in cloud computing and/or data analytics.
  • Strong technical expertise in cloud services (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a result-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and IoT device management is a plus.
  • Proficiency in AI, machine learning, and edge computing.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and development.
  • Knowledge of relevant programming languages and tech stacks.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage and inspire R&D teams.
  • Experience in project planning, budgeting, and timeline management.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.

  • Prior experience in the logistics or related industry
