Job objectives and responsibilities

As Compliance Team Manager you will be responsible for managing and leading the MSC compliance team to deliver a new compliance approach to the delivery of MSC services across the country.

Managing the team to ensure we work closely with MSC regional cleaning teams to ensure contract compliance and effective reporting and data management. You will play a key role in improving operational performance and supporting compliance using internal and client systems.

Influencing and building effective relationships

  • Foster and develop effective relationships with clients, local stakeholders, employees, and other Mitie colleagues
  • Manage and co-ordinate direct and sub-contract labour for optimum performance and to meet contractual requirements and obligations, with optimum cost benefit to the business
  • Support with sales and retention work, adding value during the building of proposals to deliver the best value proposition

Decision Making

  • To ensure the Company Health & Safety policy is adhered to in line with the H&S Policy and requirements of the management system, including monitoring and review
  • To successfully deliver and profitably manage additional and existing planned and reactive work streams. With accountability for ensuring that billing requests are submitted in a timely manner

Main duties

  • Manage the compliance team to deliver exceptional compliance and financial performance on the MSC operations.
  • Support the implementation of this new business operation, setting up systems and processes to support the delivery and management of the teams in conjunction with MSC Director.
  • Support the operations teams in reviewing growth opportunities for the MSC business both internally and externally.
  • Identify areas for improvement throughout the service delivery model, ensuring MSC are as efficient as possible and deliver highest levels of customer service.
  • Collaborate with MSC operational teams to ensure contract compliance in terms of all service delivery.
  • Manage contractual requirements from end to end as follows:
    • Scheduling and planning of works.
    • Liaising with operational teams or subcontractors to ensure attendance and work completion.
    • Liaising with clients to book in work and manage any site-specific requirements.
    • Ensuring works completed and collating job completion paperwork and supporting information.
    • Completing client follow up calls to ensure highest levels of satisfaction and client engagement.
    • Interacting with ‘servicetrac’ & ‘CASH’ systems as required.
    • Placing orders, managing administrative tasks for all requirement of MSC teams.
    • Manage client communication and liaison.
    • Manage work QHSE requirements and RAMS for work completion and provision to client.
  • Manage MSC fleet, liaising with fleet team to ensure compliance.
  • Monitor and support performance tools to enhance service delivery and compliance.
  • Present monthly PPM statistics in tabular and graphical formats to management.
  • Provide feedback to the Head of Operations on data/process issues.
  • Submit monthly activity and progress reports.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support contract operations.

Person Specification

  • Proven team manager with experience of managing a fast-paced operational support team or function
  • Can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality systems and the management of safe systems of work associated with the role and work environment.
  • Excellent customer focus and ability to communicate with clients and colleagues at all levels
  • Efficient in IT systems word, excel, PowerPoint, with ability to produce reports and stats from these data sources (Power BI experience an advantage)
  • Drive and enthusiasm with the ability to work under pressure

Health and Safety responsibilities

  • Always follow Group and company policies and procedures.
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and/or via your divisional incident reporting system.

Information Security

  • Ensure compliance with Mitie’s information security procedures in all activities.
  • Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager.
  • Report actual and suspected security incidents.
