London’s Air Ambulance delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most critically injured patients, bringing the hospital to the roadside when every second counts. Serving the 10 million people who live, work, and travel within the M25, our teams treat an average of five patients every day.
We are now seeking a highly motivated ECPR Data Analyst to support the development, delivery, and evaluation of our pioneering Extra‑Corporeal Cardio‑Pulmonary Resuscitation (ECPR) service. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge pre‑hospital care and research that directly impacts survival outcomes for out‑of‑hospital cardiac arrest patients.
About the Role
As the ECPR Data Analyst, you will play a central role in the management, quality, and interpretation of data that underpins our pre‑hospital ECMO service and wider HEMS research portfolio. Working across Barts Health, London’s Air Ambulance Charity, the London Ambulance Service, and partner NHS trusts, you will:
Data & Research Responsibilities
- Collect, compile, and validate data from multiple clinical and operational sources.
- Clean, transform, and prepare datasets for analysis and reporting.
- Maintain secure, compliant data storage systems in line with GDPR and research governance.
- Identify eligible participants for research studies and support informed consent processes.
- Manage study data, follow‑up, and documentation for HEMS research projects.

Qualifications
- A registered Band 7 Paramedic
- Educated to at least degree level or equivalent experience.
Experience
- Experience working within an informatics environment.
- Experience of web‑based front end reporting application development e.g. business objects, QlikView etc.
- Experience in interpreting national or local guidance and implementing logic to derive datasets and reporting to support said guidance.
- Experience of NHS acute Trust activity data.
- Experience in Pre‑hospital Care or Emergency Care reporting.
- Experience in ambulatory reporting.
- Experience within an ECMO service.
- Involvement in out of hospital cardiac arrests.
- Experience in Research, particularly around resuscitation medicine.
- Experience in a Pre‑hospital HEMS service.
Knowledge
- Knowledge and experience of analysis and modelling.
- Knowledge of the NHS data dictionary and its application.
