We are seeking a motivated Graduate Lab Technician to join a busy geotechnical laboratory team in Aberdeen. This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Lab Technician with some relevant experience to build a long-term career in ground investigation and materials testing. Working as a Graduate Lab Technician in Aberdeen, you will support a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects through high-quality laboratory analysis.

This organisation provides comprehensive ground investigation and testing services across Scotland, combining site-based expertise with advanced in-house laboratory capabilities. You’ll be part of a skilled technical team delivering accurate, reliable data to support engineering design and development. Their laboratory is fully equipped to carry out a broad suite of soil, rock and materials testing, ensuring quick turnaround and high standards of quality.

The Role As a Graduate Lab Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking soil and material testing (e.g. classification, moisture content, strength testing)
  • Preparing, logging and managing samples in line with industry standards
  • Recording and processing laboratory data accurately
  • Assisting with equipment calibration and maintenance
  • Supporting both laboratory and occasional site-based testing activities

Working as a Graduate Lab Technician in Aberdeen, you will play a key role in ensuring data quality and supporting project delivery.

Candidate Requirements: We are looking for a proactive Graduate Lab Technician in Aberdeen with:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in geology, civil engineering or a related field
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a laboratory or technical environment (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • A full UK driving licence (desirable)
