Job Purpose
The Senior Business Analyst ensures the stability, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of business‑critical systems and processes within the BAU support function. Acting as the bridge between operations, technology teams, and business stakeholders, the role is responsible for analysing, prioritising, and resolving incidents, service requests, and enhancement needs, while guiding junior analysts and delivering clear documentation, impact assessments, and actionable insights.
Working Hours
This role provides coverage between 07:00 and 18:00 through a rotating shift pattern (07:00‑15:00 and 10:00‑18:00), with reasonable adjustments considered where needed.
What You Will Be Doing
- Monitor system integrity through daily checks, ensuring a high standard of service for clients
- Capture and review system bugs, enhancements, and new business requirements with the team and business units
- Resolve application issues raised by clients promptly and effectively
- Develop and manage productive relationships with key partners, monitor Service Level Agreements, and conduct regular review meetings
- Maintain system support documentation, ensuring it is up‑to‑date within Application Profiles and included in project handover
- Assist with regular system upgrades by reviewing functionality changes, testing, client training, and documentation updates
- Lead resolution of complex issues and share information and knowledge with others
- Help the manager monitor team performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement
- Assist with small enhancement and project work on supported applications
- Provide guidance and training to others to help them develop skills and performance
What You Will Bring
- Proven hands‑on experience supporting front‑office platforms such as Charles River Development, Aladdin, or ETF trading and portfolio management applications, with knowledge of trade lifecycle processes and front‑office workflows
- Experience of SQL database queries
- Investment industry knowledge
- Business or technology related degree desirable but not essential
- Strong team player with a desire to learn and progress in a high‑pressure environment
- Excellent problem‑solving with an analytical, methodical approach
- Customer‑focused attitude and a solid understanding of customer service fundamentals
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Inter‑personal skills with a willingness to listen, analyse requirements, and propose innovative yet workable solutions
- Understanding of the business drivers within an investment services company
