School Support Manager
Fixed Term Contract until 31 August 2027
Grade 6 – £54,495- £64,811
Consultation grade – subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review
Working 36.5 hours per week
School and Governor Support (S&GS) is part of Birmingham City Council’s Children and Families Directorate.
S&GS is seeking to recruit a School Support Manager, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of professional support, assistance, and advice to all subscribing maintained school and academy leaders including governors, across all phases of education.
- Develop and implement strategy and policy in relation to the management and organisation of schools in all phases and settings, and work with a range of other services and agencies to ensure continuous school improvement in all phases.
- Liaise with Legal Services and other agencies with regard to schools and the law and lead the resolution of leadership and management issues as they affect senior staff, governors, parents and other stakeholders.
- Play a full role in the intervention and targeted support for schools causing concern in line with local authority policy and take an active lead in school governance including training, development, recruitment and retention.
- Provide support and guidance to all members of the team in their provision of professional support and advice to schools.
