Job Description:
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join a growing engineering team focused on delivering high-quality, scalable digital products.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about quality engineering, automation, and embedding testing best practices across the development lifecycle. You will play a key role in building robust test frameworks and ensuring seamless, reliable user experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for web applications
- Build and execute end-to-end, integration, and API tests using modern tooling
- Collaborate closely with developers, product teams, and QA to define acceptance criteria and test strategies
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery
- Advocate for best practices in test automation, quality engineering, and shift-left testing
- Analyse test results, identify defects, and work with engineering teams to resolve issues
- Continuously improve test coverage, reliability, and execution speed
Core Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in test automation using Cypress
- Proficiency in TypeScript for test development
- Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber
- Solid understanding of software testing principles across UI, API, and integration layers
- Experience working within Agile/DevOps environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and integrating automated tests into pipelines
This would require 2 days a week in their Manchester office.
