Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Permanent role with a basic salary of up to £38,000, working 40 hours Monday‑Friday across multiple sites in St Helens, Warrington, Runcorn and Merseyside.

Responsibilities

• Complete planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance for mechanical plant rooms, pumps, valves and plumbing.
• Maintain basic air handling units (AHU) and fan coil units (FCU).
• Perform checks and compliance duties such as water and tap temperature monitoring.
• Install small works and carry out emergency repairs.
• Handle all ad‑hoc maintenance tasks across the sites.

Requirements

• A qualified Mechanical Engineer or Commercial‑grade plumber.
• Experience with plant rooms, AHUs, FCUs and similar equipment.
• Previous PPM and reactive maintenance experience.
• Excellent client‑facing skills.
• Valid driving licence and van supplied for local work/travel.
• Willingness to undertake fabric and plumbing tasks.
• Ability to pass a DBS check.
