0-19 Professional Lead for Children & Family Services

We are looking for a The Professional Lead in our 0-19 team in Children and Family Services. In this role you will provide professional clinical leadership to the 0-19 Public Health teams across HIOW, including Health Visiting, School Nursing and Family Nurse Partnership teams.

With a key professional leadership role within the services, the Professional Lead will provide professional clinical advice and guidance to ensure delivery of child focussed, high quality, safe, compassionate care.

This role will support the training and development of staff particularly pre-registration students, and student Specialist Community Public Health Nurses by providing guidance and support for Practice Teachers and Community Practice Assessor’s and mentors in partnership with Universities.

You will work with the Head of Quality Governance to establish and embed a robust quality and governance framework within the services to deliver clinical quality and safety standards across the services.

The role will work with the Head of Quality Governance to ensure clinical delivery of the contracted services is responsive to changes in National and local policy, with integrated care pathways delivered in partnership arrangements which support new models of care.

This role will support the implementation of all areas of the national and local Healthy Child Programme and High Impact Areas focussing on innovation and quality improvement.

Main duties of the job

To support delivery of the Quality and Safety agenda for Public Health Services across HIOWH supporting a culture of professionalism and constructive challenge to improve outcomes.

To provide professional leadership to the service leads and wider workforce to ensure delivery of quality standards and service within clinical teams.

To support the Head of Quality Governance and Service Managers to ensure services run efficiently identifying and managing risk taking action to mitigate those risks with particular focus on safeguarding children, patient and staff safety.

To provide a visible, accessible and professional presence, working clinically alongside staff and to be available to young people, their families and key stakeholders offering information, advice and support where required. Please see attached Job Description for further information.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Registered healthcare professional Qualification as SCPHN, Health Visiting or School Nursing
  • Relevant Master’s degree, equivalent or agreement to undertake
  • Evidence of recent and on-going professional and personal development
  • Car driver and ability to travel

Experience

  • Strong clinical background and ability to work as a role model in clinical practice
  • Significant staff management experience, including appraisal, recruitment and personal development
  • Ability to delivery transformational programmes
  • Experience of delivering significant workforce change or redesign using quality improvement methodology
  • Developing and implementing strategic plans at service level, to able the achievement of divisional objectives
  • Proven track record of meeting key operational targets
  • Knowledge and understanding of the service improvement agenda, and skilled in tools and techniques for planning and facilitating service change
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills, including the ability to author concise and persuasive reports and business cases

£57,528 to £64,750 a year. Please note for part time hours the salary will be pro rata
