Job Title: SC Cleared – Cloud Engineer (Databricks / Azure)

Location: Fully Remote (UK-based)

Day rate: Up to £400 a day (Inside IR35)

Clearance: SC Clearance required

Contract Type: 12-month contract

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer. The programme focuses on migrating data from legacy platforms into modern, cloud-based data environments, with an emphasis on automation, scalability and secure delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and support data pipelines as part of a cloud migration initiative
• Build and maintain data processing and transformation workflows using Databricks
• Support the migration of data from legacy systems into cloud-based platforms
• Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to support data engineering workloads
• Use Terraform to define and manage cloud infrastructure in a consistent, repeatable manner
• Work closely with architects, project managers and delivery teams to meet programme objectives
• Contribute to the modernisation of ageing enterprise data platforms
• Ensure delivery aligns with governance, security and compliance frameworks

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven commercial experience as a Data Engineer on complex data platforms
• Strong hands‑on Databricks experience in production environments
• Demonstrable experience delivering data migration or cloud transformation projects
• Experience configuring and managing Azure DevOps pipelines for data or cloud platforms
• Working knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure‑as‑code
• Ability to integrate quickly into established teams and deliver at pace
• Active SC clearance or clear eligibility to obtain SC clearance

Nice to Have

• Experience working on public sector or regulated programmes
• Familiarity with secure, compliance-driven delivery environments
• Exposure to large-scale, long-term transformation initiatives
