Cobalt is working with a leading international real estate advisory business to appoint an Interim Financial Accountant for an initial 3-month contract.
This is a year-end / half-year reporting support role, created following recent systems changes and increased reporting demands across the finance team. The business has been through a period of transition involving multiple systems, which has created a need for someone who can quickly support reconciliations, reporting disclosures and back-end financial reporting activity.
The role
Working within the group finance team, the Interim Financial Accountant will support half-year / year-end reporting, systems reconciliation work and reporting disclosure preparation.
This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can hit the ground running, work proactively and communicate clearly with the wider finance team.
Key responsibilities
- Support half-year / year-end reporting activity
- Assist with financial reporting disclosures and supporting schedules
- Complete systems reconciliation work across multiple finance platforms
- Support Hyperion reporting and reconciliations
- Work with IBM Planning Analytics / TM1 where required
- Investigate and challenge differences rather than simply posting adjustments
- Support the wider finance team through a busy reporting period
- Help improve visibility and accuracy across reporting outputs
- Liaise with stakeholders across finance to resolve queries
- Provide proactive support around reporting deadlines and deliverables
Candidate profile
- Strong financial accounting / reporting experience
- Previous experience supporting listed / large corporate reporting cycles
- Hyperion experience is essential
- IBM Planning Analytics / TM1 experience is highly beneficial
- Strong reconciliation skills
- Comfortable working across multiple systems
- Able to hit the ground running in a fast-paced reporting environment
- Proactive, inquisitive and confident questioning anomalies
- Strong communication style and able to work well with wider finance teams
- Hands-on, accurate and deadline-driven
Key requirement
Hyperion experience is non-negotiable for this role. The client needs someone who can quickly support reporting and reconciliation work without requiring extensive systems training.
