We are now seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Service Engineer – Trainee, to join our team based at Canary Wharf. This is an entry-level role designed to provide hands‑on training and experience towards becoming an Electrical Service Engineer – Fire and Security.

Job Purpose

As a Trainee Electrical Service Engineer, you will support the delivery of electrical maintenance and service. Working under supervision, you will develop the skills and knowledge required to carry out tasks safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and statutory regulations.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Assist in undertaking electrical works in a safe and efficient manner, including basic repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Support the completion of planned preventative maintenance in line with scheduled dates
  • Help ensure all equipment and services are maintained in a safe condition, complying with Health & Safety standards
  • Participate in routine inspections and preventative maintenance programmes, accurately recording findings
  • Maintain clear and accurate logs of inspection reports and remedial work
  • Develop an understanding of statutory regulations and safety procedures, applying them in daily tasks
  • Assist with electrical repairs and installations under supervision
  • Report any defects or issues identified during service visits
  • Carry out assigned works as directed by senior engineers or supervisors
  • Support vehicle stock control and ensure materials are managed effectively
  • Complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and safe systems of work at all times
  • Use all equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly in accordance with training
  • Report any safety concerns, system deficiencies, or training needs to the Field Line Manager
  • Attend and actively participate in training, development, and appraisal activities
  • Undertake additional duties appropriate to the trainee level and skill development

About You

  • An interest in fire safety systems.
  • Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Good communication skills.

Desirable

  • Electrical qualification (Level 2/3 or equivalent)
  • Experience working on construction sites.
  • Basic understanding of fire safety systems
