Edenbrook are partnering with a fast-growing international insurance MGA group to appoint a Chief Underwriting Officer The successful candidate will lead the cyber underwriting strategy across a diversified, multi-jurisdictional MGA platform. This is a rare opportunity to shape underwriting performance with responsibility for portfolio profitability, underwriting governance, and strategic growth across cyber insurance and as well as a delegated arrangement into the US.

As Cyber CUO, you will:

  • Own Group-wide cyber underwriting performance, delivering sustainable gross and net profitability across multiple portfolios and platforms
  • Define and execute underwriting strategy across primary, excess, and delegated cyber business, ensuring alignment with Group growth and capital objectives
  • Lead expansion into new products, territories, and distribution partnerships where data, talent, and technology create competitive advantage
  • Oversee underwriting governance, delegated authority oversight, aggregation management, and risk appetite adherence across jurisdictions
  • Partner closely with actuarial, exposure management, claims, capital, and executive leadership to optimise portfolio construction and capital deployment
  • Act as executive sponsor for cyber insurance and retrocession purchasing strategy, balancing volatility management with long-term return objectives
  • Champion technology-driven underwriting, including AI-enabled risk selection, portfolio analytics, and real-time exposure monitoring
  • Represent the business externally with brokers, carriers, capacity providers, and strategic partners across global cyber markets

The successful candidate will be:

  • A proven cyber underwriting leader from a specialty insurer, reinsurer, or MGA environment
  • Proven ability to write Cyber risk on a global scale.
  • Comfortable leading through complexity, with a strong grasp of aggregation risk, capital stewardship, and governance.
  • Team management at a portfolio and underwriting team capacity.
