Role Description

Contract Electrical Assembly / Production Engineer. Location: UK South Coast (Marine). Contract: Ongoing / Project Based. Start: Immediate.

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Assembly / Production Technician to support ongoing marine projects. You’ll be joining a fast‑paced environment working on advanced marine platforms, delivering high‑quality electrical builds, integrations and fault resolution across a range of specialist systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assembling, wiring and integrating low‑voltage marine electrical systems to production and engineering standards.
  • Supporting installation, commissioning and testing of electrical and electronic systems across specialist vessels.
  • Working from engineering drawings, schematics and build documentation to deliver accurate, high‑quality assemblies.
  • Conducting fault‑finding, diagnostics and rectification on AC/DC power distribution, navigation, comms, control and auxiliary systems.
  • Supporting production teams with system integration, loom building, panel wiring and functional testing.
  • Ensuring compliance, documentation accuracy and safe working practices throughout all build stages.
  • Collaborating with mechanical, electronic and production engineers to resolve issues quickly and effectively.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong background in marine electrical systems or complex low‑voltage electrical builds.
  • Experience with installation, integration, commissioning and maintenance across yachts, specialist vessels or defence platforms.
  • Skilled in AC/DC power distribution, navigation & comms systems, engine room systems, stabilisers, thrusters, AV/lighting control.
  • Confident with advanced diagnostics: insulation resistance testing, continuity checks, earth fault analysis, thermal imaging, electronic fault tracing.
  • Ability to work to tight production schedules with high attention to detail.
  • Comfortable collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and communicating clearly with senior technical staff.
  • Prior experience in OEM, defence, refit or high reliability environments is highly desirable.
