Astute’s EPC Contract Powerteam is partnering with a leading EPC Contractor in the UK Power Industry to recruit a Commissioning Manager on a 3‑month contract to install a synchronous condenser for their CCGT operational plant in Pembroke. There is a possibility that this role will be extended further.

The role comes with a day rate from £600.00 to £700.00 outside IR35.

Role responsibilities and key skills

• Working in collaboration with the construction team, ensuring that commissioning activities are planned safely and to required quality standards and specifications.
• Set up the pre‑commissioning documentation in line with milestones for both Cold and Hot commissioning.
• Providing appropriate support throughout the commissioning phase of the project.
• Updating commissioning documentation including site reports and assisting with O&M manuals.Carrying out and recording all commissioning tests.
• Liaising with onsite subcontractors where necessary.
• Reporting to the Commissioning Manager/Lead with any site progression.
• Adhering to health and safety regulations and reporting any incidents appropriately.
• Commissioning experience gained within CCGT, OCGT, or Energy from Waste (essential).
• Qualification in a discipline such as electrical, mechanical or Process (chemical) engineering.
• Proven track record in a similar role and ability to communicate well at all levels.

Location: Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales. Day rate: £600.00 to £700.00 per day (outside IR35). Contract length: 3 months, with potential extension.
