Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Chartered Architect to join a growing Expert & Advisory Services team, working in a technical advisory and design-led capacity across complex construction and property matters. This role has a strong focus on live projects, technical strategy, and remedial design, offering exposure to a diverse client base and multidisciplinary collaboration.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide high-level technical and strategic advice across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. The role will also contribute to the expansion of advisory services on live construction projects, including acting as Principal Designer and Contract Administrator where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide architectural and technical advisory services to clients including developers, housing associations, insurers and asset owners
  • Undertake detailed technical reviews of design information, site conditions and construction methodologies
  • Contribute to remedial and feasibility strategies, including outline design, specifications and drawings for costing purposes
  • Support live projects in an advisory, Principal Designer or Contract Administrator capacity
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including fire engineers, façade consultants and cost consultants
  • Advise on regulatory compliance including Building Regulations, fire safety and CDM
  • Support client engagement and ongoing service development within the advisory function

Requirements

  • ARB‑registered and RIBA Chartered Architect
  • Minimum 10 years’ post‑qualification experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of detailing, construction processes and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience across residential, commercial and mixed‑use sectors
  • Confident communicator with the ability to explain complex technical matters clearly
  • Good working knowledge of consultant appointments, procurement routes and contracts
