BCT Programme Management Office Analyst

Salary – £36,363 – £40,777 (Grade 6)

Hours – 37 Hours

Contract type – Full Time, Permanent

Work Style – Flexible, working from home and 1 day at an office location

About the role

Black Country Transport is seeking a Programme Management Office (PMO) Analyst to join its PMO team, supporting the planning, performance and governance of a complex programme of transport and infrastructure investment across the Black Country.

The role offers exposure to high‑profile, cross-authority projects and is well suited to someone with strong analytical and organisational skills who enjoys working with data, reports and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining performance dashboards and reports (including use of tools such as Verto)
  • Analysing project and programme data to support planning, performance monitoring and decision‑making
  • Tracking milestones, budgets, risks, benefits and cross‑project dependencies
  • Supporting reporting and forward planning for Programme Board and assurance meetings
  • Quality assuring reports and papers, including highlight reports, risk registers and decision papers
  • Supporting due diligence and assurance of business cases prior to submission to governance boards
  • Working with finance teams to track spend, forecasts and funding requirements
  • Liaising with Legal, Procurement, Finance and ICT to support PMO systems and compliance with corporate processes
  • Supporting continuous improvement of PMO tools, templates and ways of working

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Experience supporting projects or programmes in a structured environment
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data and reports
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience in a public sector or multi‑stakeholder environment
  • Familiarity with project management or reporting tools
  • Experience working with budgets, funding or governance processes
