Wipers Youth CIC is an award‑winning youth justice social enterprise which specialises in working with vulnerable and disadvantaged young people. Our mission is to engage and empower young people by supporting them to discover their own special contributions and realise their full potential.
We require a passionate, skilled and experienced Group Work facilitator to deliver various group work sessions centred around empowerment and leadership, business & life skills and social action. The role involves working with young people across Greater London who may be involved in the criminal justice system.
Responsibilities
- Deliver group work sessions and workshops
- Participate in debriefing and evaluations with co‑facilitator(s) after sessions have ended
- Provide written session reports and updates
- Complete AQA submissions for all accredited courses
- Take the lead on graduation events for individuals who complete programmes
- Lead and support our Youth Ambassadors as part of our Youth Advisory Board (YAB)
- Tailor specific workshops around the needs of each group, to account for various learning styles and neurodiversity’s
- Adhere to Wipers guidelines and policies including confidentiality, child protection & equal
- Ensure completion of Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check prior to employment
Person Specification
- Rich experience in working with groups and adeptly managing group dynamics, including conflict or challenging behaviour
- Understanding of evidence‑based interventions in a group work setting
- Excellent communication skills, strong organisational and administration skills, proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint
- Working understanding of safeguarding children and young people and how to maintain
- Working understanding of equality and diversity with the ability to challenge discriminatory behaviour
- Where advantageous, a qualification in counselling, group‑work or equivalent is not essential; your unique experiences and commitment matter most to us
The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check prior to employment.
