Electrical Engineer – Deeside / Chester Area – Automation/Controls/PLCs

£49-56k base salary + quarterly bonus scheme, 10% employer pension contribution, private medical insurance – total package £57-68k. Annual salary review.

Samuel Frank is recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to join a globally recognised manufacturing company with a large base in the Deeside / Chester area.

Key aspects of the position include:

• Knowledge of PLCs, controls & automation.
• Lead a small team including an Electrical Supervisor and two Electrical Technicians.
• Minimum qualification of HNC; hands‑on experience/background.
• Knowledge of AC/DC inverter drives.
• Hydraulics and pneumatics experience – desirable, not essential.
• Desire to gain Chartered status (supported by the business).
• Primarily office based (75%) with shopfloor work (25%).
• Receive specialist training, annual salary review, 10% employer pension contribution, and staff discounts with major UK brands.
• Salary includes a monthly payment for approximately 170 annualised hours (1.25× overtime rate), covering about 3‑4 hours of weekly overtime.
• Working hours 8‑4 pm Monday‑Thursday, 8‑3 pm Friday.
• Bonus not guaranteed; recently paid roughly 5% of base salary.
• 28 days holiday + bank holidays.

Location

The company is located in the North West, easy commute from Deeside, Chester, Wrexham, Ellesmere Port, Broughton, Liverpool, Northwich, Runcorn, Widnes and Warrington.
