Position Overview
The Trauma and Orthopaedic Department at UHD is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the team as a Speciality Doctor in hand surgery and trauma, working with Miss Higgins, Mr O’Connor, Mr Richards and Mr Southgate who specialise in Hand Surgery.
Key Responsibilities
- Working alongside our existing specialty doctors and registrars to provide care to inpatients including new admissions.
- Supervision and support of junior medical colleagues, Physicians Associates and Advanced Nurse Practitioners/Advanced Clinical Practitioners.
- Maintaining continued professional development.
- Attending ward multidisciplinary meetings.
- Attending and contributing to educational sessions and Clinical Governance meetings.
- Partaking in departmental Quality Improvement work.
- Participating in the hospital appraisal process as part of on‑going professional development.
- Weekend working will be expected in this role.
Relocation and Travel
There will be a planned move for this service where the role and base of work will relocate to the Bournemouth Hospital site. Upon relocation of the role/service, excess mileage allowance/reimbursement will not apply, and any travel between the postholder’s home and work base will be classified as a commute.
