Our Finance team is responsible for ensuring accurate financial operations and plays a crucial role in managing the Firm’s financial health. Our team handles a wide range of financial activities including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, taxation, partner compensation, payroll, treasury and cash flow management to support the Firm’s strategic goals. We are responsible for inventory management including billing and collections, and analysis of client, matter and timekeeper profitability. We oversee statutory accounting and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards. The Finance team also prepares financial statements, reports and analysis to provide insights into the Firm’s financial performance. We work closely with other functions to monitor expenses, optimize financial processes and implement cost‑saving initiatives. Through meticulous financial management and strategic planning, the Finance team ensures the Firm’s financial stability and supports its growth objectives.

Globally, the Finance team works across our network of offices and countries where our functions include: billing and collecting Firm invoices; statutory accounting for the Firm and associated offices globally; creating and distributing management reports; processing payments to vendors or reimbursements to employees; and managing for our people.
The team’s remit also encompasses partner compensation and the maintenance of partner equity accounts; global tax strategies; inventory management, and profitability analysis of clients, matters, and groups of timekeepers. We work with partners and with other business services groups to set hourly billing rates as well as AFAs. The Treasury sub‑team is responsible for global cash management, foreign currencies and hedging.
In consultation with Firm leaders, we set annual global revenue and expense budgets for both legal and business service departments. The team also monitors expenditures throughout the year to ensure that the Firm’s resources are being used efficiently.
White & Case needs a tech‑savvy eBilling Coordinator; an individual who, as part of our global team sitting in our London office, will facilitate the successful submission of electronic bills through firm and client. The eBilling Coordinator is expected to apply stellar organizational and communication skills with a positive, can‑do attitude.
The successful eBilling Coordinator candidate will have familiarity with the principles of legal billing and all LEDES formats, a demonstrated ability to test, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with submissions to multiple client vendor applications as well as eBillingHub. They will employ superior customer service skills to communicate solutions for any issues simply and clearly to colleagues at all organizational levels of the firm. Excellent organizational and project management skills are required to manage workflow and prioritize effectively over many diverse projects and daily tasks and handle multiple and perhaps, competing deadlines. Ability to work well in a remote team environment with a focus on superior customer service is compulsory.
Duties and Accountabilities
- Collaborate with Billing Coordinators and Revenue Controllers to resolve issues and ensure smooth submission of eBills.
- Advise when necessary on accurate preparation of bills in accordance with clients’ outside counsel guidelines.
- Work closely with the eBilling Supervisor and other eBilling team members to develop and streamline eBilling processes and procedures to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of eBilling operations.
- Maintain documentation of all procedures and processes.
- Review and submit timekeeper rates and other critical data for eBilling clients prior to submission.
- Troubleshoot issues with Legal Electronic Data Exchange Standard (LEDES) formats and eBillingHub configurations.
- Monitor invoice rejections to proactively identify issues and work with Billing/Revenue staff to address rejections, client deductions, and other issues.
- Help Billing Coordinators to prepare appeals for rejected invoices, and troubleshoot to resolve all issues.
- Communicate with stakeholders proactively to resolve all issues quickly and efficiently and expedite successful invoice submissions.
- Complete special projects and ad hoc projects and requests from eBilling Supervisor and/or Manager.
- Promote effective work practices, work as a team member, and show respect for co-workers.
Qualifications and skills
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Billing and/or eBilling.
- Law firm experience preferred.
- Thorough understanding of billing processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Strong communication skills, able to interact at all levels.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and follow‑through.
- Ability to organize workflow and use time efficiently.
- Ability to anticipate work needs, take initiative, and follow through with minimal direction.
- Self‑motivation, determination, interpersonal skills, and resolve.
- Intermediary knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of 3e preferred.
- Familiarity with many eBilling vendors.

Location and Reporting
This role will be based in the London office and report to our London eBilling Supervisor. Our standard office hours are 9:30-18:00, with a requirement for 4 days in the office (Monday – Thursday) per week.
