Consultant in Vascular & Endovascular Surgery
The Liverpool Vascular & Endovascular Service (LiVES) is looking for a Consultant Vascular & Endovascular surgeon to join our growing team. The successful applicant will be based at Aintree University Hospital, becoming an integral member of the Vascular Surgery department and playing an active role in the development of clinical services, education, research and service improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality, patient‑centred vascular and endovascular care.
- Be a key member of the multidisciplinary team, including vascular surgeons, anaesthetists, resident doctors, therapists and specialist nurses.
- Contribute to formalised MDT meetings, morbidity and mortality meetings, and other governance structures.
- Participate in the daily C1 rota at Aintree and in the acute/on‑call rota during C1 and C2 periods.
- Engage in teaching, audit, research, clinical governance and the delivery of specialised lower‑limb and peripheral vascular services.
Qualifications
- Membership or Fellowship of one of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons (UK), or an equivalent qualification.
- Fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and holding a current licence to practise.
- Listed on the GMC Specialist Register for Vascular Surgery, or eligible for inclusion within six months of interview.
Preferred Interests
- Special interest in peripheral arterial disease, including endovascular, open and hybrid surgery.
- Experience or interest in chronic limb threatening ischaemia (CLTI) clinics and dedicated endovascular operating lists.
- Additional specialities such as deep venous intervention or thoracic outlet syndrome are strongly supported.
