Adecco are pleased to be recruiting for the Vetting Coordinator role within the Gloucestershire Constabulary.

This temporary full‑time position is based in Quedgeley and offers an hourly rate of £14.14. The role requires an organised and detail‑oriented individual who can provide professional administrative assistance in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical assistance following policies and procedures aligned with the Vetting Code of Practice.
  • Be the friendly face or voice for applicants and colleagues, ensuring all inquiries are handled promptly and courteously.
  • Assess applications for completeness and accuracy, seeking clarifications as needed to ensure high standards.
  • Input accurate information into vetting databases, maintain records, and prepare statistical reports.
  • Review and manage records in compliance with relevant legislation, ensuring confidentiality and proper disposal when necessary.
  • Organise meetings, take minutes, and provide general administrative support to the Vetting Team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of GCSE grade 4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Proven administrative experience with a keen eye for detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in keyboard skills and familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse audience.
  • Self‑motivated and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of vetting processes and experience handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and diplomacy in managing confidential matters.
