Role Summary

We’re seeking a Multinational Underwriter in Property and Casualty to join us on this journey. This role will play a key part in contributing to the continued development of our offering, driving and building key relationships across the market to satisfy clients’ needs and grow accounts, while supporting the delivery of KPIs.

Professional Development

You’ll participate in the Allianz Global P&C Academy, enhancing your skills in underwriting, risk engineering, pricing, and claims management while exchanging best practices across the Allianz Group. Allianz Insurance supports professional qualifications such as IFoA and CII where appropriate.

Our team values continuous learning. You can enjoy free access to top training platforms like DataCamp, Databricks Academy, and LinkedIn Learning. We also host Lunch and Learn sessions and monthly insight forums, including a Data Science Forum and analyst forum.

This will be a hybrid position based out of our Manchester office, 2–3 days per week.

Salary Information

Pay: Circa £38,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

Key Responsibilities

  • Focus on winning and retaining business of a large and complex nature.
  • Provide excellent service to customers and develop business relationships with key clients.
  • Build and develop successful relationships with brokers and end customers, being visible in the local market.
  • Achieve agreed financial and operational performance targets.
  • Provide support and guidance to colleagues on lower license levels, sign off referrals, and work on quality assurance.
  • Collaborate strongly with others and across departments to achieve the Company’s goals in respect of service delivery – a good team player.

Essential Skills

  • Technical underwriting skills in commercial property and casualty lines.
  • Experience dealing with large and/or complex multinational risks.
  • Capability to leverage data and analytics.
  • Excellent trading skills and confident negotiator, with a strong ability to build, develop and maintain relationships, both internal and external.
  • Full working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
