A well-capitalised alternative investment platform is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate (CRE) lending professional to lead origination activity across the UK as part of a newly established commercial mortgage strategy.
This is a unique opportunity to join at launch stage and play a key role in building a high-conviction lending platform focused on income-producing commercial real estate assets. The successful individual will act as the primary originator for the region, sourcing and executing commercial mortgage opportunities typically ranging from £5m–£20m+, while helping shape the strategy’s growth and market presence.
The platform offers a differentiated lending proposition centred around speed, flexibility, certainty of execution and commercial pragmatism. While not always positioned as the lowest-cost lender, the business is highly entrepreneurial, well-capitalised and able to move decisively on attractive opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate and execute commercial mortgage transactions across London and the South East
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, brokers, borrowers, advisers and intermediaries
- Source high-quality lending opportunities across core commercial real estate sectors
- Lead transactions end-to-end including structuring, underwriting coordination, negotiation and execution
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to shape lending strategy and deployment priorities
- Build and establish the platform’s regional market presence and reputation
Candidate Profile
- 8+ years’ experience in UK commercial real estate lending or debt advisory
- Strong origination track record across mid-market CRE transactions (£5m–£50m)
- Deep network across sponsors, borrowers, brokers and advisers in London & the South East
- Strong structuring and execution capability across a range of commercial asset classes
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate autonomously
- Background from a bank, debt fund, insurer, non-bank lender or advisory platform
