CNC Programmer – £40,000 – £50,000 – Chelmsford

Permanent. £40,000 – £50,000 per annum. Chelmsford, Essex. On-site.

This is a hands‑on, production‑focused role for a CNC Programmer who can independently program, set up, and run 5‑axis milling operations, producing aerospace‑grade components from day one.

This is a shop‑floor role first, you’ll be programming, proving out toolpaths, and machining precision parts, with a focus on efficiency, quality, and problem‑solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently program 5‑axis milling machines for aerospace and high‑precision components
• Set up jobs, select tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds
• Prove out programs and troubleshoot machining issues on the shop floor
• Maintain high‑quality standards with micron‑level tolerances
• Improve processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Must Have

• Strong hands‑on experience programming 5‑axis milling machines (DMG MORI, Hermle, or equivalent)
• Confident in independently setting up and running jobs
• Solid understanding of metrology, GD&T, and high‑precision machining

Nice To Have

• Offline programming experience (NX, Mastercam, Fusion 360)
• Previous experience with aerospace or highly precise components
