We are looking for a Warehouse Manager M/F/X in Wolverhampton on a permanent contract, full time to support our activities. It’s an onsite position without remote work.

The Warehouse Manager M/F/X will be responsible for managing warehouse operations, logistics coordination, inventory control, and operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

This role requires a hands‑on leader who can manage teams, optimize warehouse processes, and ensure the smooth movement of goods from inbound deliveries through to outbound distribution.

Key responsibilities for this role

  • Coordinate the day‑to‑day operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods.
  • Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy and stock control through effective processes and cycle counting.
  • Ensure warehouse layout, storage systems, and workflows are optimised for efficiency and safety.
  • Oversee inbound goods processing including container unloading, goods receipt, and quality checks.
  • Manage outbound operations including order fulfilment, packing and carrier collections.
  • Order picking, packing and assisting with general warehouse duties as required.
  • Security, key holding and overtime management.
  • Overseeing consumable usage.

Logistics & Distribution

  • Coordinate transport and logistics operations to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers.
  • Liaise with carriers, partners and logistics providers to manage shipping schedules.
  • Monitor shipping performance and delivery KPIs.
  • Maintenance of company vehicles.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and develop warehouse staff including supervisors and operatives.
  • Manage recruitment, training, performance management, and workforce planning.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Systems & Process Management

  • Ensure accurate use of warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems (Microsoft BC).
  • Monitor operational performance through KPIs such as: order accuracy, on‑time dispatch/time to delivery, inventory accuracy, picking productivity.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations, including safe manual handling and forklift operations.
  • Maintain a safe working environment through risk assessments, training, and safe operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive operational improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
  • Analyse operational data to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions.
  • Work closely with procurement, customer service, and sales teams to ensure smooth supply chain operations.

Skills Requirements For This Role

  • Proven experience managing a warehouse or distribution operations (minimum 7 years of professional experience).
  • Strong leadership and team management experience.
  • Experience working with ERP or warehouse management systems (Microsoft Business Central highly beneficial).
  • Strong understanding of inventory control and warehouse processes.
  • Knowledge of UK health & safety regulations within warehouse environments.
  • Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience managing third‑party logistics providers (3PL).
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on operational efficiency.
  • Hands‑on operational leader, leading by example with multi‑functional expertise.
  • Knowledge of import/export logistics and freight management can be a plus for the role.
