Sheet Metal Welder / Fabricator

Letchworth35,360 – £45,760(DOE) + Overtime + Bonus Scheme37.5 Hours Per Week

3Sixty Talent Management is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected sheet metal engineering company based in Letchworth.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sheet Metal Welder / Fabricator to join a skilled and supportive production team, working on a variety of prototype and low-volume manufacturing projects for globally recognised customers across multiple industries.

The Role

As a Sheet Metal Welder / Fabricator, youll be responsible for producing high-quality fabricated components for both prototype and low-volume production work. Youll work from detailed engineering drawings to manufacture precision parts that meet exact customer specifications.

Your Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components
  • Carry out high-quality TIG and MIG welding
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Operate press brakes, laser cutting equipment, and fabrication machinery
  • Work with stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel
  • Ensure work meets strict quality standards, including ISO 9001 and AS9100

What Were Looking For

Were looking for someone with a strong background in sheet metal fabrication who enjoys producing precision work to the highest standards.

Ideally youll have:

  • Proven experience in thin gauge TIG and MIG welding
  • Sheet metal fabrication experience
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Desirable Skills

  • Experience within prototype or low-volume manufacturing
  • Knowledge of laser cutting or CNC machinery
  • Understanding of tight tolerance manufacturing and inspection processes
  • City & Guilds qualifications in Welding & Fabrication or an Engineering Apprenticeship (advantageous)
