Engineering Change Controller

Department: Engineering

Reports To: Engineering Team Lead

Location: Bordon, UK

Responsibilities

  • Analyse and resolve data integrity issues
  • Drive engineering change processes and approvals
  • Ensure proper storage and retrieval of product and organisational data
  • Provide technical data setup support for printed circuit boards, subassemblies and other custom items
  • Continuously improve design and production data documentation processes
  • Provide Product Data Management training and support to other personnel
  • Generate and amend Work Instructions
  • Administer Engineering Change Notes and Deviation Requests
  • File and copy drawings
  • Provide general Design Office support
  • Assist with mechanical test support (vibration/thermal) and report writing
  • Generate parts lists
  • Create magnetics drawings
  • Carry out any other duties reasonably expected of a Draughts Person

QMS Compliance & Maintenance

  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 9001
  • Support development, revision and control of quality procedures, work instructions and process documentation
  • Ensure proper document control and record retention in accordance with QMS requirements

Key Competencies

  • Negotiate resolution of engineering change concerns
  • Communicate urgency and importance of product documentation processes to ensure timely support
  • Work with minimum supervision
  • Evaluate and prioritise a variety of tasks to meet tight timescales, managing frequent interruptions
  • Determine most effective methods and procedures to complete assignments

Education & Experience

  • GCSE/A Level and additional courses, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Engineering qualification / SolidWorks experience
  • Interest in mechanical design and product manufacturing
  • 3+ years relevant experience
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain processes and ISO 9001 requirements
  • Operational experience with Product Life Cycle Management / Product Data Management, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and MechCAD applications (SolidWorks)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hours of work: 38 per week, 8:30–17:30 Monday‑Thursday with half‑hour lunch break, 8:30–12:30 Friday
