Financial Controller Woking
Location: Woking Onsite (surrounding Surrey areas – including Guildford, Farnborough, and Camberley)
Rate: £35 per hour
Type: Self-Employed / Part-Time
About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Financial Controller to join our network on a self-employed basis. This role involves supporting a range of SME clients across Surrey, providing hands‑on financial leadership and strategic insight. You will work closely with business owners and senior stakeholders, delivering high‑quality financial control, reporting, and commercial guidance tailored to each client’s needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of financial control for multiple clients
- Prepare and present monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Deliver budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Provide strategic financial advice to support business growth
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and financial regulations
- Improve financial processes, systems, and controls
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and other stakeholders as required
About You
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance role
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and commercial acumen
- Comfortable working across multiple businesses and industries
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Highly organised, self‑motivated, and able to work independently
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) preferred or 5 years QBE
