Chief Cardiac Physiologist

Chief Cardiac Physiologist in Devices, highly skilled and experienced Physiologist with IBHRE/BHRS qualification. Will perform complex device implants and clinics, including remote follow up. Assist in managing the service and training supporting band 5/6 members of the team.

Job responsibilities

  • Perform complex device implants including pacemakers, ICDs, CRT devices, ILRs.
  • Provide remote follow‑up and monitoring of device patients.
  • Assist in managing the cardiac device service and in training band 5/6 team members.
  • Carry out investigations in two cardiac catheterisation labs (angiography, angioplasty, primary PCI).
  • Perform complex electrophysiology studies using 3‑D mapping and cryoablation.
  • Conduct echocardiography services including TTE, TOE, contrast, bubble, stress studies.
  • Support additional cardiac procedures as required.

Qualifications and experience

  • Completed a BSc (Hons) in clinical physiology or equivalent.
  • Registered with RCCP or AHCS; hold current ILS or ALS certificate.
  • Hold BHRS, IBHRE or EHRA accreditation with evidence of CPD focusing on devices.
  • Demonstrated record of high standard work, excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.

Working pattern

Mon‑Friday 08:00‑18:00.
