The Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Service at Hillingdon Hospitals supports people living with MS across the local area, offering practical, clinical, and emotional support throughout their journey. Our MS Team work closely with Neurology, Rehabilitation, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive joined‑up, high‑quality care. It’s an exciting time to join us. MS treatments are rapidly evolving, and our service is expanding to reflect these advances. We are committed to improving service integration between primary and secondary care and the successful candidate will play an important part in helping shape the next stage of the service. We are looking for a committed and motivated Band 7 Nurse to join our friendly MS team. You should have experience supporting people with MS and be keen to develop further in this specialist area. Main duties of the job

  • Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care to individuals living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
  • Run independent nurse‑led clinics focused on proactive support and self‑management.
  • Work to prevent hospital admissions through early intervention, education, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Contribute to the development and advancement of the MS Specialist Nurse role within the service.
  • Support the ongoing growth and expansion of the MS Service at Hillingdon Hospital.
  • Enhance the delivery and coordination of MS treatment options, ensuring patients receive timely and appropriate therapies.
  • Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary MS Team to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrate strong motivation, enthusiasm, and commitment to continuous improvement in MS care.

Job responsibilities

  • Plan and organise your own workload effectively, making good use of digital tools and resources.
  • Develop strong specialist knowledge and work towards becoming an expert in MS care.
  • Represent the Trust and MS service at meetings, events, and professional forums.
  • Maintain clear and safe boundaries within your clinical practice whilst striving to improve care.
  • Take responsibility for complex joint decision making regarding managing disease‑modifying therapy options and symptom control while supporting patient choice.

Person Specification – Criteria

  • Valid NMC Registration & PIN
  • Nursing Degree
  • Teaching and Mentoring Qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years’ post registration experience at a senior level (Band 6 or above) in a speciality area
  • Post Graduate Qualification in a specific speciality or equivalent experience
  • MSc level qualification (or working towards it)
  • Highly developed specialist knowledge of Multiple Sclerosis and Neurological conditions
  • Evidence of research and audit
  • Publication in healthcare journals
