Overview
I am currently recruiting for a Bid Manager to join a respected Tier 1 contractor delivering projects across the Southcoast, with schemes ranging from £10m to £60m. This is a business with a fantastic reputation across the UK, known for doing things the right way. They’re trusted by clients for the quality of their work and honest approach, and they’ve built strong relationships with their supply chain and delivery partners over many years.
Key Responsibilities
Joining an established pre-construction team, you’ll be involved from the very beginning of the bid process. The business is selective about the opportunities it pursues, focusing on projects that are the right fit and where they know they can genuinely add value for the client.
You will work closely with the wider pre-construction team to develop and manage high-quality first-stage submissions, helping to shape bid strategy and produce compelling, well-written content. Once projects are secured, you’ll remain involved through the second stage, working alongside estimating and design teams and acting as a key point of contact for the client throughout the process.
Qualifications
They are looking for someone with experience managing large and complex construction bids who is comfortable handling technical information and producing detailed, high-quality submissions, including PQQs and bid documentation. Experience working on two-stage schemes would be beneficial. They will also look at a Senior Bid Writer who is looking for the next career move, or a Project/ Contracts Manager with pre-con experience.
Work Environment
It’s a genuinely supportive and collaborative environment, with experienced people around you and a team that values new ideas and different ways of thinking. The business has strong systems and processes in place but is always open to improving and evolving how it works.
Benefits
In return, they offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits package, and an annual bonus linked to both individual and regional performance.
