Senior Insight Analyst – Crew Planning (16918)
Join our Crew Planning team, which oversees the entire crew supply chain – from recruitment and training to planning and rostering. As part of the Crew Analytics team, you will provide actionable insight that supports day‑to‑day decision‑making and longer‑term planning.
Responsibilities
- Define, refine and own metrics, definitions and analytical logic to ensure consistent, trusted and decision‑ready insight.
- Use SQL and advanced analytical techniques to extract, transform, validate and analyse complex data from multiple sources to support evidence‑based decision‑making in Crew Planning.
- Build and maintain dashboards and automated analytical outputs that support ongoing performance monitoring.
- Lead exploratory, diagnostic and ad‑hoc analysis to answer specific operational questions and inform decision‑making.
- Review and develop trends and model projections to identify operational challenges and potential solutions.
- Provide relevant and timely operational insights on current performance to Crew Planning and senior stakeholders.
- Communicate insights and findings clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences, including senior leaders.
- Recommend tools, capabilities and best practices that help optimise Crew Planning performance.
- Foster a data‑driven culture, creating a single version of the truth to promote data‑led decision‑making.
- Proactively generate and test hypotheses, taking ownership of solving problems and driving continuous improvement.
- Manage multiple analytical topics, prioritising and delivering high‑quality outputs in a fast‑paced operational environment.
- Coach and support colleagues, sharing expertise and developing talent within the team.
Qualifications
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in a numerical, analytical or quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Substantial experience in analytics, data analysis or a problem‑solving role, ideally with experience influencing senior stakeholders.
- Advanced SQL skills, with experience extracting, transforming and analysing data from large, complex datasets; experience with Python or similar analytical languages is desirable.
- Experience with or commitment to learn data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, ThoughtSpot, Power BI).
- Strong data handling and analytical skills, including data validation, interpretation and translating analysis into actionable insight.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment and delivering high‑quality analysis under time pressure.
- Self‑motivated and outcomes‑focused, able to work independently across multiple analytical topics.
- Organised, adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change.
- Ability to communicate analytical insight clearly and confidently to technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including senior leaders.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to build effective working relationships and influence at all levels.
- Curious mindset, with a willingness to continuously develop analytical, technical and domain knowledge.
- Demonstrable experience of using data to drive business decisions in a commercial setting.
- Ability to align business needs with analytical delivery, while remaining credible and confident in explaining analytical approaches and outputs.

Full‑time role based in Luton. 40‑hour week with hybrid working: 60% office, 40% remote.
