I’m working exclusively with a growing logistics business that’s looking to hire a Business Development Manager to drive new client acquisition across the UK. This is a proper new business role for someone who knows the freight / logistics market, is comfortable opening doors, and enjoys building long‑term commercial relationships.
The business has a strong reputation in its sector and is continuing to grow, so they’re looking for someone who can come in, win business, and play a key role in the next phase of expansion.
The role
- Driving new business across the UK within the logistics / freight space
- Identifying and opening new commercial opportunities through proactive outreach
- Building and managing your own pipeline of prospects and target accounts
- Converting inbound enquiries as well as generating your own leads
- Developing long-term relationships with clients and acting as a trusted commercial partner
- Attending client meetings (virtual and in person where needed)
- Using LinkedIn and other channels to raise visibility and generate conversations
- Keeping the CRM updated and reporting on pipeline and activity
What they’re looking for
- Proven B2B sales experience within logistics, freight or supply chain services
- Someone who enjoys winning new business rather than purely account management
- Strong relationship builder who is credible with senior stakeholders
- Commercially minded with a proactive, self-starting approach
- Comfortable managing your own pipeline and working autonomously
- Full UK driving licence
