Workshop Manager

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Workshop Manager to join a well-established sheet metal and fabrication business based just outside of Letchworth. Specialising in high-quality fabricated and sheet metal solutions, the company supports a diverse customer base across a variety of engineering and manufacturing sectors.

This Workshop Manager role would suit someone with a strong background in sheet metal fabrication who is confident leading teams, managing production flow, and maintaining high standards across a fast-paced workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the sheet metal and fabrication workshop
• Manage fabrication staff and coordinate workloads to meet production deadlines
• Ensure manufacturing processes are completed efficiently and to required quality standards
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Drive health & safety compliance and continuous improvement throughout the workshop

Qualifications

• Previous experience managing teams within a sheet metal or fabrication environment
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes including welding, forming, and assembly
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
• Excellent organisational, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
• Hands‑on approach with the ability to prioritise multiple projects effectively
