Due to business requirements, we are now looking to acquire the services of an experienced Relationship Manager to support Business Development/Markets & Treasury with driving forward customer acquisition, growth & retention.
- Please note that this role is hybrid with 3 days from the office and 2 days working from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage overall relationships with trading counterparties (Bonds, FX & Repo).
- Lead all counterparty On-boarding, Annual Reviews through KYC/KYB applications by closely working with the Business Risk Review and Business Risk Control teams.
- Closely work with the trading desk’s sales function to ensure relationships are managed proactively and efficiently.
- Work with the relevant managers in creating quality risk assets in line with the Bank’s Business Development strategy and Risk Appetite Statement.
- Monitor facilities, transactions, as well as forthcoming maturities for prompt payments and ensure the required zero tolerance on NPLs remains.
- Attract and grow in a sustainable manner, low-cost liabilities from existing and new account relationships to support Bank’s funding plan across various tenors.
- In line with Bank’s strategy, penetrate new customer sectors/geographies with core focus on Capital Markets trading counterparties within the Institutional Banking & Corporate Banking portfolios.
- Prepare and present Credit Proposals for new businesses and annual credit reviews to the Executive Credit Committee.
- Engage with Loans Agency department on all operational considerations in relation to Investments and assets creation.
- Undertake the sales process from identification of an asset through to completion of the asset sale.
- Manage up or manage out accounts within the portfolio which are unprofitable or poor-quality accounts.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience working in a similar relationship management role.
- Previous experience working with Emerging Markets is highly desirable.
- Knowledge and exposure to financial markets including FX trading, bonds, repo etc would be highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Treasury and Financial Institutions/Corporates in Sub-Saharan Africa would be highly desirable.
- Previous experience of running own portfolio beneficial as an RM.
- Excellent communication & organisational skills.
- Strong level of attention to detail.
