About The Role

As Head of Social, you will shape and lead Tropic’s social vision across every platform. This is a senior leadership role for someone with the presence and credibility to inspire a talented team, while partnering closely with our Founder, Susie Ma, and Managing Director, Carlton Connell.

You’ll take us beyond business-as-usual social. With a platform-first mindset, you’ll unlock bold, commercially driven growth, particularly accelerating TikTok as a powerful sales and community channel. At the same time, you’ll elevate and amplify Susie’s personal brand during her time as a guest Dragon on Dragons’ Den, ensuring we maximise this cultural moment with clarity, creativity and impact.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Innovation

  • Founder Brand Building: Partner directly with Susie Ma to develop her personal brand across LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok, translating her journey as a CEO and Dragon into raw, authentic, and high-impact content.
  • Platform Evolution: Lead the expansion into new channels, specifically driving the strategy for TikTok to become a core engine for growth and community engagement.
  • Data-Driven Growth: Implement a rigorous test and learn culture, using data and insights to prove the ROI of social activities and refine content strategies based on what truly resonates.

Team Leadership & Execution

  • Team Management: Lead and mentor the organic social media team, providing clear direction, prioritisation and professional development.
  • Senior Stakeholder Management: Act as a senior voice in the room, possessing the leadership to push for innovative, high-engagement content over traditional corporate messaging.
  • Community Integration: Ensure our 20,000+ Ambassadors remain central to our social storytelling, equipping them with the inspiration and tools to share the Tropic story authentically.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Integrated Campaigns: Work closely with Creative, Digital, PR, and Performance teams to ensure social content is joined-up and consistent across the full marketing mix.
  • Brand Experience: Ensure the social strategy aligns with the broader Brand and Growth objectives, balancing commercial needs with deep emotional brand connection.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive Experience: Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in social media and content, ideally with a background in luxury beauty, lifestyle, or high-growth D2C brands.
  • Leadership Skill: Proven experience managing teams and high-profile personal/founder brands. You are a leader who can earn trust and push boundaries with senior executives.
  • Platform Mastery: A deep, native understanding of the full social landscape (TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and how to tailor content to each.
  • Resilience & Persuasion: The ability to navigate strong opinions and land creative ideas through the use of data, examples, and strategic rationale.
  • Purpose-Driven: A passionate advocate for Tropic’s “Infinite Purpose,” ensuring our 10% for the World commitment is woven meaningfully into our social narrative.

What We Offer

  • Employment Type: Full‑time, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
  • Location: Tropic HQ is a short walk from Beddington Lane Tram stop, with direct links to East Croydon and Wimbledon.
  • Hybrid Working: Blend of office and remote working with a minimum of 3 days in the office.
