Raytheon UK has a full-time permanent opportunity for a Senior Test Development Engineer to join our team at Glenrothes, Livingston, or Harlow sites.

As a Senior Test Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, manufacture, verification, validation, and lifecycle support of test equipment at board, sub-system, and system level. You’ll work on technologies supporting Control Actuation Systems, Guidance Electronics, and cutting‑edge GPS Anti‑Jamming systems across land, sea, air, and space.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop functional test equipment for electronic systems
  • Lead and support hardware/software integration and troubleshooting
  • Provide lifecycle and production support, including issue resolution and obsolescence management
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines to develop robust, scalable test solutions
  • Lead design reviews and documentation to the highest standards
  • Act as a mentor and technical leader for junior engineers

Required Experience

  • Design of product Test Development Hardware
  • Wiring Schedules
  • System Interface design
  • Appreciation of NI LabView/Teststand
  • Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation
  • Proven experience in handover and management of designs in production
  • Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills
  • Able to support/debug system integration
  • Must be eligible Security Clearance to a minimum of BPSS
  • Desirable Experience
  • Significant test development experience in industry
  • Understanding of common test architectures PXI/LXI
  • Measurement Uncertainty and its application in test equipment design and validation
  • Software detailed knowledge of NI LabView, CVI & TestStand, C#
