Gas Engineer – Commercial Vacancy

The Company: Roberts & Prowse, based in Elgin Ind Estate, Swindon, Wiltshire, is a Mechanical and Electrical Services Contractor operating throughout the Home Counties, South West & South East of the UK. We are recruiting a Commercial Gas Engineer to join our busy team in Oxfordshire & Reading.
Responsibilities
- Carry out gas installations as required by the company
- Carry out servicing and pre‑planned maintenance
- Carry out reactive call‑outs, attend, diagnose and repair faults
- Gas leak detection, pressure testing, flue testing, gas appliance servicing, certification, gas purging services
- Complete all necessary documentation including Field Service Reports and Official Gas Safety Certificates as requested by the Senior Mechanical Contracts Managers
- Meet all necessary deadlines
- Keep job records, including any extra works, materials used and any delays incurred
- Order parts in the absence of the Senior Mechanical Contracts Manager
- Carry out all work to a high standard while complying with all relevant health and safety standards

Qualifications & Experience
- Fully qualified and proven experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer
- ACS Commercial and Domestic Gas Courses:
- CCN1 (Core Domestic Gas Safety)
- COCN1 (Core Commercial Gas)
- CDGA1 (Commercial Direct‑Fired Gas Heating Appliances)
- CIGA1 (Commercial Indirect‑Fired Gas Heating Appliances)
- ICPN1 (First Fix of Commercial Pipe Work in excess of 35mm)
- TPCP1A (Strength Testing, Tightness Testing and Purging Industrial Gas Installations)
- CENWAT1 (Domestic Central Heating and Water Heaters)
- CPA1 (Combustion Performance Analysis)
- Ability to effectively carry out installations to a high standard
- Be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Ability to read drawings and specifications
- A full driving licence
- CSCS card holder an advantage
- DBS an advantage
- Essentially you will be a Time‑Served Commercial Gas Engineer with experience in Commercial Building Services or Construction; work accurately and effectively with minimal supervision and works well under pressure
