Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Cost Manager / Cost Manager to join our KierBAM Joint Venture team based in Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard. Remote working is available, with occasional travel to the office required. The position is full‑time, 45 hours per week. KierBAM is an exciting partnership between Kier and BAM Nuttall, delivering a redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth. This role requires a BPSS security clearance, which can take up to 8 weeks. Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past five years.
What will you be responsible for?
- Preparing accurate cost forecasts and developing realistic budgets based on project scope.
- Analyzing cost data and generating clear financial reports for stakeholders.
- Managing NEC4 contracts, defined costs, and change control processes.
- Identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cost‑related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborating with clients, contractors, suppliers, and team members to ensure clarity and alignment on priorities.
What are we looking for?
- Strong knowledge of cost management and financial principles, with experience in budgeting and forecasting.
- Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
- Experience with NEC4 contracts and an understanding of construction methods and resources.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP, Power Query, and dashboard creation.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships.
