SENIOR MECHANICAL ESTIMATOR – Castleford (Hybrid Working)

Overview

The Mechanical Estimator plays a key role in the Sigma M&E Division, helping win profitable tenders by developing accurate cost estimates, ensuring competitive pricing, and supporting the tender process.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed project cost estimates, material take-offs, and cost breakdowns.
• Review supplier and subcontractor quotations for accuracy and compliance.
• Support the tender process, including bid preparation, coordination, and handover to project teams.
• Analyse market rates, benchmark data, and project risks to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to maintain strong commercial relationships.
• Drive continuous improvement within the estimating function.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths required.
• HNC/BTEC in Construction or Mechanical Engineering desirable.
• Degree or chartership advantageous.
