Overview

Site Manager – Main Contractor | Midlands / UK Projects

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a growing main contractor delivering medium to large-scale construction projects across sectors including commercial, education, healthcare, retail, refurbishment and new build. This is a hands-on role for a strong leader with a proven track record of delivering projects safely, on programme, within budget and to a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day site management of live construction projects
  • Managing subcontractors, site labour and project sequencing
  • Driving health & safety standards and ensuring full compliance
  • Quality control, inspections, snagging and close-out processes
  • Coordinating temporary works, utilities, permits and logistics
  • Monitoring progress against programme and producing short-term lookaheads
  • Liaising with clients, consultants and commercial teams throughout delivery

Experience Required

  • Proven Site Manager experience on £1m+ construction projects
  • Background in commercial, healthcare, education, retail, refurbishment or new build schemes
  • Strong subcontractor management and programme delivery skills
  • Experience working in live / occupied environments advantageous
  • Good understanding of temporary works, permits and site logistics
  • Strong communication and leadership ability

Qualifications

  • Essential:
  • SMSTS
  • CSCS Card
  • First Aid (preferred)
