Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Nurse to join the Birmingham & Solihull TB Service. The role involves follow‑up care for patients diagnosed with Tuberculosis and screening of contacts.
Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required
- Case manage and support treatment completion for a caseload of adult and child TB patients
- Prevent spread of infection and minimise drug‑resistant disease outcomes
- Collaborate with the multi‑disciplinary team, UKHSA, local authorities, neighbouring TB services and national TB services
- Be a community vehicle driver (required – Category B licence)

Qualifications
- Professional Registration with the NMC (required)
- Degree or equivalent qualification (required)
- Teaching & mentoring qualification (required)
- Non‑Medical Prescribing Course (desirable)
Experience
- Substantial post‑registration experience (required)
- Evidence of ongoing CPD (required)
- Evidence of teaching in various environments (required)
- Experience in community and management of TB cases (desirable)
Additional Criteria
- Evidence of participating in research & audit
- Knowledge of dissemination of knowledge to wider healthcare organisations
- Development and implementation of clinical management plans
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to perform in stressful and complex situations
- Sound clinical reasoning & decision making
- Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances
- Ability to inspire and lead a team
- Awareness of NHS policy context relevant to TB specialty
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and TB Action Plan and Priorities
- Independent mobility with full Category B driving licence (clean or no more than 3 points)
- Awareness of current research related to TB specialty
