Reporting to the Group Head of Health, Safety & Fleet, you will drive positive change in occupational health and safety by partnering with Regional Management and Group senior leadership. You will lead, deliver, and own strategies that ensure legal compliance, protect our people and assets, and foster a proactive safety culture across the entire organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior managers to deliver occupational health and safety strategies that move the business beyond compliance towards safety excellence.
- Perform detailed site audits and inspections using group standards and legal frameworks to identify high‑risk activities and implement reduction strategies.
- Support senior management with thorough incident investigations, providing data trend analysis to prevent recurrence and protect the business from litigation.
- Identify potential hazards and develop innovative safety solutions, ensuring we remain the partner of choice through integrity and reliability.
- Produce and review innovative training materials, providing competent coaching and advice to a variety of audiences by adapting your communication style.
- Hold senior managers to account for health, safety, and welfare standards within their regions while encouraging active colleague participation.
What We’re Looking For
- A proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive behavioral change.
- An experienced understanding of health and safety legal frameworks and the ability to analyse data trends to drive strategy.
- Qualifications: H&S training at Level 3 or above (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, NCRQ, or NVQ).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and coach diverse learning styles.
- A quick and decisive approach to problem‑solving in a fast‑paced environment.
- A full Category B driving licence and flexibility for regular travel and occasional overnight stays.
- Existing experience as a Health & Safety Advisor or in a similar auditing role.
- Registered membership of a professional body (e.g., IOSH, IIRSM).
- Experience in evidence‑based reporting.
